During a press conference at the White House on Wednesday, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders completely mopped the floor with New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman.
The press pool did their best to contend with the intelligent and quick witted White House Press Secretary but they just couldn’t keep up with her.
Sanders called on Haberman to ask a question, using her first name “Maggie.”
The NYT reporter immediately started to play the same worn out tune, asking Sanders to define what President Trump “actually means” when he says there was no collusion between his campaign and Russia.
“The President has said repeatedly there was no collusion between the campaign and Russia. Can you define what he means when he says “collusion?”, asked Haberman before shooting three more questions at the press secretary. “Is he talking about meetings between officials? Is he talking about information-exchanging hands? What does that mean?”
Press Secretary Sanders didn’t miss a beat and immediately broke it down for the entire press pool saying, “Look, I think the accusation against the President is that he had help winning the election, and that’s simply untrue…”
That is when Sanders laid down the hammer of truth on every single person in the room:
“The President won because he was the better candidate, because he worked harder, because he had a message that America actually cared about and believed in, and came out in a historic fashion and supported and voted for him.”
and she didn’t stop there…
“That’s why he won. It wasn’t because of some made-up hoax that has been created to delegitimize this President. It’s because he was the best candidate, at the right time, that America wanted to see, and that’s why he’s in the Oval Office today.”
Sanders and Haberman continued to go back and forth a minute more, before the White House Press Secretary blatantly shut down the reporter from asking anymore questions, and moved on to speak with someone else.
